Aceology - Assumptions (prod. MadBliss)

Aceology is back and in rare form on "Assumptions" backed by some nice production provided by MadBliss for the first single from his upcoming Karma EP. AceGawd has been on a hiatus for about a year now, just dropping tracks here and there but with this he seems to be finally ready to release a new project.

On his latest track he addresses his hiatus, those speaking on him and even brings up the critiques of his style. Speaking of his style it is funny how he brought it up seeing as for the last year or so he has had a "trap" influenced sound (see this and this) and many of his fans were asking if he was ever going to return to his more traditional/jazz influenced sound (see this and this) that he had earlier in his career. It is how he says in the track though "gotta switch it up, no problem versatile and focused" he can do both equally well and because of that I don't have a preference but it is nice to hear him on this style mainly because it's been so long. I have to say it seems like the homie always sends me quality music and this is definitely one of the strongest singles he has put out from the lyrics to the mixing of the track everything works. Hopefully his Karma EP will be out sooner rather than later I'm interested in hearing what Ace has cooked up until then I'll have this on repeat.

Aceology - Movin' Out (Prod. MY$TIKAL)

Aceology becomes AceGawd and channels his inner Thug on his latest track "Movin' Out". Backed by some menacing production from MY$TIKAL, Ace absolutely goes in over the bass heavy instrumentation sending shots and calling out all foes. I don't know who pissed Ace off but ever since "OGAWD" dude has been deadly. GAWDBLE$$ coming soon...

Iceburg Jettson - 92' Ric Flair ft Aceology

The artist formally known as Willie Jetts has been reborn as Iceburg Jettson and is back with a new track "92' Ric Flair" to signify his rebirth. Featuring a smooth sample from "The Mack" by Willie Hutch (ironic huh?), that most will remember from Three 6 Mafia's "Poppin' My Collar", Iceburg and Ace go in and trade bars about the Nature Boy over the Blvckspvce production. Wouldn't mind hearing more collaborations between these two in the future. Be sure to look for Jettson's The Peoples Champ mixtape later this year.

Aceology - ZEUS 2.1 Beta (prod. KINGNEV$UPREME)

Ace Gawd is back with his latest track "ZEUS", backed by ill production from KINGNEV$UPREME, this might be the best yet that I've heard from him lyrically. This is from the potentially upcoming Trillzburry Dopeboy EP, Ace does promise that the final version will be mastered for a much cleaner sound. Be sure to grab Ace's latest projects B$ RADIOVol.II/TOA$T TO THA GOD$ and PVLMTREE$ & PROMETHVZINE VOL.1.

[Video] BLVCK$PVCE - RN$

Directed by Helena Banks of Kreative Khaos

The trill duo of Aceology and Corrupt Alskade a.k.a. BLVCK$PVCE come together for "RN$" from Ace's Red Eye Poetry, backed by some dope visuals provided by Helena Banks who perfectly captures the tracks' vibe.

Aceology - Ratchet & Clank / MK III

Trill Game General Aceology is back with another banger in "Ratchet & Clank/ MK III" which is reminiscent to his first D:D feature "Chinchilla Warfare". I definitely get that early SGP Blvckland Radio 66.6 vibe with the gritty/distorted vocals and the Mortal Kombat sample, although Ace has a more raw sound with this track. Homie has a knack for creating these trill joints with familiar elements but still putting enough spin on it to create his own unique wave. Look for Trxllxcxsm 2 to drop sometime later this year.

Sidenote: I need more video game samples in music!

[Mixtape] Aceology - Red Eye Poetry: Adventures of $uburbia's Finest

Red Eye Poetry from Aceology is easily one of the dopest projects to drop this year. One of the main reasons why is because Ace maintains his sound, more of a Trill Wave and Trap hybrid, than just Trill Wave without coming across as another A$AP/SGP clone. I actually preferred when Ace strayed away from that typical sound to experiment a little bit. "Nigga Like Me" is the perfect example of this, Ace flows over a minimalistic beat backed by soulful horns, a few soft claps and a excellent guest verse from Mike of Doom. Another track that I felt stood out was "RN$" which featured a spacey sound, some assistance from a unknown female and a very infectious hook.

REP also stands out mainly due to the production of the project, each track has it's own individual sound and I can't say that any particular beat disappointed me. That aspect also helps to serve to hold your interest over the lengthy 18 track project (all though two of the tracks are bonuses) and keep your head nodding, to the at times hypnotic sound. It's almost as you're under the influence of a drug while listening. Very trippy shit.

As a fan of Trill Wave, I particularly enjoyed REP a lot, for the average rap fan the slurred and distorted vocals and tripped out production might be off putting. Although I would recommend you listen even if you despise A$AP/SGP or Trill Wave all together. Mainly because Aceology does such a well job at sticking to the genres roots and still creating his own unique sound which is something very hard to do these days. I can guarantee that you've never heard anything like Red Eye Poetry and Ace should be saluted for that.

Standout Tracks: Nigga Like Me, RN$, Mxdnxght Cruxze, Zues and Chinchilla Warfare

Aceology - Chinchilla Warfare (prod. Logan Da Great)

Backwards $ocitey's own Aceology dropped an absolute banger in "Chinchilla Warfare" producer Logan Da Great comes with the bass, which knocks so hard that it actually distorts Ace's vocals. Although I'm sure it was intentional, so don't mistake it for low quality or bad mixing. Look for more tracks like this on Aceology's upcoming project Red EyePoetry when it drops November 4th.
