Lebanon, Pennsylvania native Zen Gnarly recently sent me his track "Wssup" along with the video for it. It's definitely one of the better submissions I've gotten, nice flow and production from Mike Mo Beats. If you like what you hear be sure to check out the rest of Zen's music over at his SoundCloud and look for his upcoming project Golden.

[Mixtape] SOPHISTICATED - VXXIXCIII
Recently D.C. artist SOPHISTICATED sent me his VXXIXCII (5/21/93) project it was my first time hearing him and I have to say I'm impressed. One thing that I learned from my listen is that SOPHISTICATED can rap and damn well at that. I would describe VXXIXCII as an lyrical exhibition, the tape both benefits and hurts from that. While it is impressive to hear such lyrical skill in this day and age of commercial rap, an hour plus is extreme. The main issue I had with VXXIXCII was the length of it, one hour and four minutes is waaaay too long. At the half way mark I thought I was coming towards the end of the tape only to realize I had 35 more minutes of listening time. I would've came away with the same feelings I had about the tape if it ended right there, I heard nothing more in the latter half that swayed my already formed opinion.
If you can get past the long duration there is definitely something special to be heard here, from the production featured on the tape to SOPHISTICATED's lyrical ability and fluid flow, VXXIXCII is honestly one of the best submissions I have ever received and a recommended listen.

Oab Jenkins - Danny Devito (prod. Eu-IV)
Newcomer to the blog is Oab Jenkins who sent me this impressive track named after the actor "Danny Devito". Oab spits some solid bars, to go along with his sharp delivery and flow. Most impressively is how producer Eu-IV flips Boom Clap Bachelors "Tiden Flyver" already a great song and most known for being the sample behind Kendrick Lamar's "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" kudos to Eu-IV for that as the two sound nothing alike. Be sure to check out the rest of Oab Jenkins' music over at his SoundCloud too.

Fred J. Riley - Pokey Oaks
Download: Pokey Oaks
First off let me start by saying this is probably the most unique submission I've ever received. I don't know much about Fred J. Riley all I know is he can spit. I received his track Pokey Oaks earlier today and my attention was immediately grabbed by the title. Upon listening I was even more impressed by the beat which sampled Pokemon Red's theme. Fred's lyrics were on point, the only thing I could say needed improvement was his flow but it isn't something that takes away from the track. He definitely has his own style, which is hard to find in artist these days. Anyway, I look foward to future tracks from him and seeing his skills grow in the future.
Be sure to check out the rest of his music here.
