[Video] Inside The Beat: Earl Sweatshirt & Vince Staples

The good folks over at Noisey got together with Earl Sweatshirt and Vince Staples for the first episode of their "Inside The Beat" series. Surprisingly this has very little to do with producing and serves more as insight into Earl and mostly Vince's recording habits and personal feelings on music. Excellent cinematography.

[Video] Tyler, The Creator - WOLF Anniversary Show

Tyler, The Creator gives a brief look at what went down during WOLF's anniversary show. Man...it's crazy to think it has been a year since this album dropped I remember the day I heard it vividly. Anyway be sure to grab it if you haven't yet it is definitely worth it.

Earl Sweatshirt - Nebraska ft Mac Miller & Vince Staples

Earl Sweatshirt took to Twitter earlier today to release two previously unheard tracks dating far back as 2012. The first "Nebraska" features good friends in Mac Miller and Vince Staples, the second is a solo cut featuring a interesting production choice compared to Earl's norm. S/O to you if you know the video SS screenshoted for the cover art.

Double Feature: Domo Genesis - Arrival & SS4

Domo Genesis seems to be gearing up for the sequel to 2011's Under The Influence as he took to Twitter on 4/20 to release two new tracks "Arrival" which is produced by Left Brain and "SS4" which features production from Flatbush Zombies' Erick The Architect. I do hope/expect the sequel to be better than the original which was to say the least disappointing, however looking back I'll cut Domo some slack since it was his first project with no OF production three years later and with plenty of experience there should be no excuses for a lacking project now. Look for Under The Influence 2 to drop sometime later this year.

Odd Future - Look (prod. Nottz)

Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator, Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis and Earl Sweatshirt black out over some Nottz production. No word on if this is just a throwaway or from a upcoming project. I want more OF tracks like this and "Oldie".

[Video] Earl Sweatshirt - Hive ft Casey Veggies & Vince Staples

In his latest video Earl Sweatshirt takes us for a trip through a dark and desolate cul-de-sac (imagine Ed, Edd & Eddie on an Acid trip). "Hive" is reminiscent of that grunge/grime sound that catapulted Earl and OF into fame way back in 2010. With Casey handling the hook, Earl and Vince give you the narration for the creepy visuals. Doris available August 20th.

[Video] Hodgy Beats - Alone

Hodgy drops some creative visuals for "Alone" off his Untitled 2 EP. More Odd Future videos like this creative and unique without being overly weird.

[Video] Earl Sweatshirt At Coachella

Earl Sweatshirt made his Coachella debut in a rather awkward fashion this weekend. While Earl's performance was good the crowd seemed lackadaisical, which is ironic considering that is the same criticism Earl often receives, but he worked through it to put on a nice performance. Mid way through Domo Genesis and Vince Staples show up for their respective tracks from Earl's upcoming album Doris. I was definitely feeling the new material, especially "Hive" which features Vince Staples who absolutely bodies his verse. Of course Tyler, The Creator came out and along with Earl performed some OF classics, this would've truly been a memorable Coachella debut if it weren't for the crowd props to Tyler for calling them out on it though. Anyway it's a enjoyable set for any OF fan and a definite must watch for the new Doris tracks.

Earl Sweatshirt - Chum

Odd Future's Earl Sweatshirt has been relatively quiet since coming home, only dropping one solo track aptly named "Home" and a few guest appearances. A lot of mysterious still surrounds the young rapper with many fans not to sure in which direction his new music will be going. What we do know is that, gone is the rapper you heard on Earl and earlier Odd Future projects. Also at the same time a lot remains the same from those days.

Earl's second released track since coming home "Chum" is the perfect example of what I was speaking on above. Earl has matured past the subjects of murder, rape and 666 to personal subjects that we've heard him speak on in the past, but more so as a child would handle it. Earl manages to keep that dark sound that his is known for and still evolve into something that he wasn't before. A mature emcee who is able to tell a story of truth and truly put his life into lyrics. I have a feeling that "Chum" is just the beginning for young Earl and that we'll get the full effect of his new found skills when he drops his project hopefully sometime this year.

MellowHype - Grill

With their next album Numbers dropping on October 9th, Left Brian and Hodgy let loose one more track from the album. "Grill" finds the duo doing what they do best, LB crafting a tight ass beat and Hodgy spazzing. Left even spits quite a long verse at least longer than what he has in the past. This is definitely the best song they've put out in a while after those (IMO) disappointing MellowHype week tracks. Lets hope this is more of a sign of things to come, we'll find out when Numbers drops this weekend.

Frank Ocean - Blue Whale

Frank Ocean dropped a new track "Blue Whale" on his Tumblr last night, the track features Frankie rapping and some space is left on the track so who knows if someone will be joining in on the track. The quality is rough but that's the only downside of the track and hopefully a CDQ version will drop soon.

[Video] MellowHype - La Bonita

The MellowHype crew released visuals for "La Bonita" the first single from their upcoming Numbers album. I don't particularly dislike this song it just doesn't have that MH feel to me. Let's hope we'll get more singles from Numbers as the October 9th release date approaches.

Odd Future - Oldie (Video)

For those looking for proof of Earl's return look no further. The Odd Future crew spit their respective bars while at a Terry Richardson photoshoot. This record feels like an OF cypher to me and I definitely think this is the best way to go far as video wise.

Frank Ocean - Whip Appeal

Download: Whip Appeal

A new track from Frankie via his Tumblr, something different than his usual slow somber sound. Love how upbeat the production is, definitely a track you could cruise around the city to this Summer.
