Phonte - The Life Of Kings ft Evidence & Big K.R.I.T. (Video)
New Tigallo, new Tigallo, new Tigallo. Phonte drops some visuals for one of my favorite cuts off his album Charity Starts At Home. Funny thing is Evidence couldn't make it to the video shoot so MomTigallo stepped up and did it for him. Hilarious. If you didn't peep Phonte's solo debut Charity Starts At Home yet, I recommend you do I had it as the second best album of 2011, behind Section.80
CRASHprez & *hitmayng - Enjoy Your Miserable Life EP

The latest project from the Klansmen, CRASHprez features six dope tracks with topics ranging from politics, love, and surprisely Darth Maul (trust me it works). Production is handled by Milwaukee native *hitmayng who does an excellent job complementing the lyricism and wit that CRASH has become known for.

Man! What can I say about this track besides that it's great. This is by far to me the best release from Ab-Soul's Control System that we've heard. Fuck a Black Hippy album, can we get an Soulo and Q project? Anyway don't forget to cop Control System when it drops May 11th, it's definitely going to be one of the best releases this year.

Doxx - Goldie | Jolly Ranchers
Download: Goldie | Jolly Ranchers
Cleveland artist Doxx hit me up with two tracks today from his upcoming project Paint It Black. I have to admit I thought that his track Goldie was going to be a "freestyle" over A$AP Rocky's latest, but I was wrong. It is actually an original song and the two sound nothing alike. The only thing that you could compare is both rapper's obviously Houston influenced music. Goldie is an ode to the late Pimp C, and with the help from producer Aystarz, Doxx along with Joey Sap and Ash J spit over a banger full of bass.
The second track I received was Jolly Ranchers, which can be summed up as a lean anthem but once again the production stands out to me and as with Goldie the trill sound is there. If you like what you hear be sure to cop Doxx's Paint It Black when it drops.

Ab-Soul - Pineal Gland (Video)
Earlier today, Ab-Soul dropped a video for his track Pineal Gland off of his upcoming album Control System, due out on May 11th. This is definitely a banger, backed by the production from Tae Beast, Soul spits some of the best I've heard from him. With the release of the Danny Brown featured Terrorist Threats last week and now this, Control System is looking to be one of the top releases this year.

SIR E.U THE GREAT - WOMBO EP
If your a fan of SIR E.U you've noticed that he has been relatively quiet (music-wise) since dropping his album H I P P O P O T A M U S in December, besides doing a few features here and there. Well it seems the young man has not been loafing during his "layoff", he has actually been working hard on a EP called WOMBO. As with his previous tapes the main highlight is E.U's superb lyrics, the beats featured complement this as well. Unlike past projects the production has a minimalistic approach to it leaving you to revel in the lyrics of the Hippo. With each project E.U seems to get better lyrically and with his beat selection and WOMBO is the perfect example of this.
Childish Gambino Brings Out Kendrick Lamar & Danny Brown At Coachella
Childish Gambino grabs K-Dot and Danny Brown for a live remix of his You Know Me track off of Culdesac. Gambino even comes with a totally new verse but keeps that trademark flow of his reminiscent to that of a young MIMS. Needless to say Kendrick kills it, and as for Danny well I couldn't hear it due to Gambino's consistent wooping and moaning. Yeah.

Jay Electronica - Dear Moleskin
Download: Dear Moleskin
Waaaaaay back in 2009, Jay dropped a snippet of this track on YouTube. Now in 2012, almost three years later we get the full thing. Isn't funny how Jay Electronica time works? I don't know who pisses me off more him or Lupe, they're arguably two of the greatest lyricist ever to do it, yet these two hardly ever drop songs outside of their projects. Anyway the track itself is while I can't say it was worth the wait, it's not bad. Jay seems to take a step back to Just Blaze's instrumental which sound-wise is out of the norm for him but it works none the less. Now about that album...

G.O.O.D. Music - Mercy ft 2 Chainz
Download: Mercy
Let me start off by saying this is my favorite record of the year so far, if the G.O.O.D. album sounds anything like this I'll be a happy man. An absolutely perfect track, from the production by Lifted, to the verses. Everyone does well here, Pusha T especially but the surprise guest verse from 2 Chainz stole the show for me.
Ab-Soul - Terrorists Threats ft Danny Brown & Jhené Aiko

Cloud Nothings - No Future / No Past (Video)
Randomly came across this at 4 am in the morning, the video caught my eye but I stayed for the music. A very minimalistic sound, vocals, eerie guitar strings and the occasional drum but it picks up towards the end. The video though is very trippy and creepy, an old man being dragged around or floating around than ending upside in a crucifix position. Weird.

Kendrick Lamar - The Recipe ft Dr.Dre (Stream)
The lead single from Kendrick Lamar's debut album is everything you would expect it to be. Great. As always K-Dot brings it, and even Dre's ghost written lines sound dope over the amazingly smooth production from Scoop Deville. Give this a video, some push and I could definitely see this being a big single for Kendrick. Good Kid In A Mad City due out later this year.
